Esthetic Crown Lengthening

Crown lengthening is a common surgical procedure where gum tissue, bone, or both are removed to expose more of a tooth. The procedure is carried out using local anesthesia and is done when a tooth needs to be fixed. This procedure allows the retention of a crown. In essence, it doesn't lengthen the crown but instead lowers the gum line; therefore more of the tooth is exposed.
